Office Furniture Removal Services
Sometimes you don't need a full office clearance — you just need the furniture gone. Whether you're replacing old desks, clearing out after a downsize, or removing a few items to make room, we collect office furniture across the UK with options for resale, recycling, donation and responsible disposal.
Just the Furniture
Office furniture removal is a lighter service than a full office clearance. It's specifically about the desks, chairs, storage units, meeting tables, reception furniture, and other items that furnish your workspace. We're not clearing IT equipment, confidential documents, kitchen contents or general waste — just the furniture.
This service is ideal when you're:
- Upgrading furniture — new desks and chairs coming in, old ones need to go
- Downsizing — fewer people, fewer desks. The surplus needs removing
- Reconfiguring — changing the office layout and some furniture no longer fits
- Closing a section — one floor or department is closing but the rest of the business continues
- End of lease — the landlord's furniture is staying, but your additions need removing
If you need everything cleared — furniture, IT, files, kitchen, general waste — see our full office clearance service instead.

Free Valuation Tool →What Affects Furniture Value
Not all office furniture is created equal. The resale value depends on four main factors:
Brand
Premium ergonomic brands hold their value best. A 5-year-old Herman Miller Aeron chair can still fetch £400–£600 on the secondary market. The same age generic task chair might be worth £5–£20 — or nothing. Brands that command the best resale prices:
- Task chairs: Herman Miller (Aeron, Mirra, Sayl), Steelcase (Leap, Think, Gesture), Humanscale (Freedom, Liberty), Orangebox
- Desks: Any quality sit-stand desk (especially Linak or Logicdata mechanisms), Herman Miller, Steelcase, USM
- Storage: USM Haller, Bisley, quality solid-wood pieces
- Meeting/lounge: Vitra, Fritz Hansen, Arper, Muuto
Age and condition
Furniture under 8 years old in good condition holds the most value. Light wear is acceptable — scuffed arm pads, minor fabric marks, small scratches on desks. Heavy wear (ripped fabric, broken mechanisms, significant damage) usually means recycling rather than resale. Chairs with full working gas lifts and tilt mechanisms are worth significantly more than those with faults.
Quantity
Larger quantities are more attractive to trade buyers. A single chair is harder to sell than 50 matching ones. If you have 20+ of the same item, the per-unit value is typically higher because buyers can resell matching sets more easily.
Accessibility
Ground floor with loading bay access? Easy. 8th floor with no goods lift? That affects the collection cost, which may offset any resale value. We factor access into every quote.

Your Options
When we collect your furniture, it goes one of four ways — and we'll tell you upfront which route each item is likely to take:
Resale
Quality items in good condition are sold through our network of trade buyers, furniture dealers and online channels. Revenue is either paid to you directly or offset against your collection costs. For high-value items (premium task chairs, sit-stand desks, designer pieces), resale is almost always the best option.
Donation
Furniture that's in good usable condition but doesn't have significant resale value — standard desks, filing cabinets, meeting chairs — can be donated to charities, social enterprises, schools and community organisations. This is excellent for your ESG credentials and often tax-efficient.
Recycling
Items that can't be reused are broken down for materials — metal frames, plastic components, wood. We work with specialist recycling facilities to maximise material recovery. Recycled items contribute to your landfill diversion rate.
Disposal
A small percentage of furniture genuinely can't be reused or recycled — heavily damaged items, certain composite materials, contaminated pieces. These go to licensed waste facilities with full Duty of Care documentation.
Need furniture collected?
Whether it's 5 chairs or 500 desks — we'll value what we can, collect the lot, and give you a complete report of where everything went.
Furniture Removal vs Full Clearance
Not sure which service you need? Here's a quick decision guide:
| Scenario | Service |
|---|---|
| Just desks and chairs to remove, everything else stays | Furniture removal |
| Upgrading furniture, old items need collecting | Furniture removal |
| Entire office needs emptying (furniture + IT + files + everything) | Full clearance |
| Lease ending, premises must be completely cleared | End of lease clearance |
| Furniture plus IT equipment to dispose of | Full clearance (for data destruction capability) |
| Just want to sell quality furniture | Furniture removal (resale focus) |
If you're not sure, get in touch and we'll recommend the right approach based on your situation.

- You get documentation — waste transfer notes for any disposed items, and an ESG impact report showing the environmental outcome

Can I sell my office furniture instead of disposing of it?
Yes — quality office furniture from brands like Herman Miller, Steelcase, Knoll, Humanscale and Vitra holds good resale value. We buy furniture directly or sell through our trade channels, with proceeds offset against your removal costs. Use our free furniture valuation tool for a quick estimate.
What furniture brands hold the best resale value?
Premium ergonomic brands retain the most value: Herman Miller (Aeron, Mirra, Sayl chairs), Steelcase (Leap, Think, Gesture), Humanscale (Freedom, Liberty), Knoll, and Vitra. Quality sit-stand desks from any brand also hold value well. The key factors are brand, age, condition, and quantity.
What is the difference between furniture removal and full office clearance?
Furniture removal is specifically the collection and disposal of office furniture — desks, chairs, storage, tables. Full office clearance covers everything in the premises including IT equipment, filing, confidential waste, kitchen contents and general rubbish. If you only need furniture removed and the rest of the office is staying or being handled separately, furniture removal is the right service.
Can you collect furniture from multiple floors?
Yes. We handle multi-floor furniture collections regularly, including buildings without goods lifts. For high-rise buildings, we coordinate with building management for lift access and floor protection. Multi-floor collections take longer and may cost more, but we include this in our fixed-price quote.
